What is Mold?

Mold is a plant that grows on food. Mold grows on damp bread and wet apples. Molds develop from a tiny thing called the spore. When spores settle on wet food such as apples, it swells and begins to grow by producing little roots.  Sometimes mold spreads across the surface of food.

Don’t eat moldy food. Throw it away.
