Project Vacation
  Plan a vacation on the continent that includes at least 5 primate cities, 5 important historical sites, 5 nature highlights, museums, landmarks, and other local interests. Be creative. Explain the geographical influence of your choices. How did the themes of geography affect the development of these places of interest? Be sure to create an itinerary.
 
Project Culture
  Explain how a local culture in terms of the five themes of geography. How did this cultural element develop as a result of geographical influence?
 
Project History
  Explain how the physical attributes of geography affected the outcome of three  important historical events.
 
Project Cuisine
  Describe three indigenous foods that are popular to a local people. Explain how geography affected the adoption and development of this food. If possible, please supply samples.
 
Project Economics
  Describe the top five major industries that are related to the continent. Explain the importance of these industries to the area, their sustainability, its history, and future.
 
Project Society
  Describe the major religions, political boundaries, art, music, education, languages, and movement of peoples for three countries on the continent. How have the themes of geography influenced these societies?
 
Individual Marco Project
  Road Trip - a la Marco Polo. Marco Polo left Venice at the age of 17 and came home at the age of 41.
See the routes of Marco Polo. If you were to take a trip like Marco Polo today, where would you go? Your assignment is to visit at least two continents mostly by automobile. (You can use a boat or plane only when it is impossible to traverse by automobile.) You must travel at least 10,000 miles. You must stay at least a year in three different places. Use Google Maps  to  plan your route. Tell what interesting places you will visit. What jobs you would like to do when you stay at a particular place? Tell about the culture of places you visit, provide a sample of their music and tell of their food. Who are the current leaders and explain their form of government. Provide photos and interesting facts. Make a movie.

Career Explorations

   
Project  Career 1
  Research and describe a career in which you are interested. What do you need to do to enter this field? What education or training do you need? What wages are paid? What are the duties and responsibilities?
 
Project Career 2
  Research and describe a career of one of your parents, relatives, neighbors or friends. Interview this person and ask this person what he or she does daily. Describe a typical day. What training or education is needed?
 
Project College 1
  Research and describe a college or vocational center you are interested in attending. What are the qualifications? Describe the typical students who attends. What majors interest you? Why are you interested in this college or vocational center?
 
Project College 2
  Research and describe a major in college or a vocational center. Choose a college and a major of interest. What classes are required? How long will it take to get a Bachelors of Art or Science? What should you do to prepare yourself in high school?
 
Project Health 1
  Write a personal essay stating your concerns, values and opinions regarding the human reproduction as required by the state and this class. What are your fears and what are you looking forward to?
 
Project Health 2
  Interview a parent, grandparent, or some family member and find out about your family's medical history. Ask them what health concerns they have. What nutritional plans to they follow? What exercise regimen do they practice? What did you learn about your own future?
