This class will bolster reading, and
writing skills for upper elementary and incoming sixth graders. I will use
a literature circle type of instruction, using current novels for fourth
and fifth graders, and the required reading for the incoming sixth
graders. Sixth graders will complete both novels, as well as their summer
reading packet, and we will work on writing and citation skills to
prepare them for the middle school. Upper elementary students will work on
reading, writing and research standards based on their novels. We will
also incorporate fun activities such as reader's theater, various reading
games, playwriting, and apps such as Explain Everything to enhance their
learning experience.
