The non-discrimination policy of the Summer
Academy is the same as those of the El Segundo Unified School District
with minor adaptations. |
The Summer Academy does not discriminate on the
basis of race, color, national origin, gender, disability, or age in any
of its policies, procedures, or practices; in compliance with all
federal and state law. Inquiries regarding nondiscrimination in
education or the Academy's compliance with those provisions may be
addressed to: Dr. Ray Gen, the director of the Summer Academy, or the
United States Department of Education Office of Civil Rights.
Complaints -
Allegations of unlawful discrimination on the basis of ethnicity,
religion, age, sex, color, sexual orientation, or physical or mental
disability may be addressed to the director of the Summer Academy, Dr.
Ray Gen or to the CEO of the El Segundo Education Foundation.

Resolution of the Complaint-
Each complaint shall be investigated by the appropriate district
office/division and shall be resolved within 10 days of the receipt of
the written complaint unless an extension of the timelines has been
agreed upon by the complainant. The director shall 1.
Investigate/mediate the complaint, 2. Give filing party an opportunity
to present relevant information to party in dispute, 3. Obtain
statements from other individuals who were witnesses or who can provide
relevant information concerning the alleged violation; 4. Prepare a
written report of the investigative findings, corrective actions, or
any, suggested resolution(s) and a rationale for the findings, 5. Advise regarding appeal rights. |
